Millie Bobby Brown, the 14-year-old star of Stranger Things, has deleted her Twitter account since becoming the subject of homophobic memes.
These Photoshopped images make the teenager out to be anti-gay. According to The Wrap, the hashtag #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown resurfaced as well (it first popped up in November 2017).
Some on Twitter say this meme actually originates from certain members of the LGBT community, who consider the anti-gay meme of Millie an ironic in-joke.
The reality is that the English actress supports gay rights. She wore an LGBT pin to the MTV Awards in 2017.
As well, Millie is an anti-bullying advocate. She set up the Twitter account @Milliestopshate last summer to combat cyberbullying.
Many of the 14-year-old's fans have shown their support of the young girl since she deactivated her main Twitter, @milliebbrown.
So first twitter bullies Kelly Marie Tran off Twitter by being racist and misogynistic and now you guys are bullying Millie Bobby Brown, a 14 year old girl, and pretending that she’s violently homophobic for a not at all funny joke? Anyone who did this is disgusting.

If a kid gets bullied in school the media jumps on it, people raise an angry mob, outcries are heard, yet if it’s done to a 14 year old actress it’s somehow funny and ok? I get comedy is subjective but adults bringing down #MillieBobbyBrown is cruel and you ought to be ashamed.

Millie Bobby Brown: *leaves twitter after actual adults kept accusing her, a 14 year old who literally did nothing and is an lgbt+ ally, of being homophobic over twitter*

Y'all: But it was just funny! just satire! I feel so bad teehee but the memes are worth it lol :) pic.twitter.com/SHtVQpKYGL
We hope Millie is doing well and that, should she choose to return to Twitter, she won't be the subject of any more derogatory memes.
