Netflix & your family Christmas

Christmas is almost upon us, which means time to decorate the tree, get your presents sorted, and of course, time to relax in front of the fire watching your favourite films, and catching up on the TV shows you love, with the people you love.

We want to know how you will be using Netflix with your family this Christmas. Will you put a film on Netflix while you are wrapping your presents? Maybe you’ll be using Netflix to help the kids settle down before bed on Christmas Eve - after all the excitement over the arrival of Santa! Or perhaps you’ll choose a family favourite that everyone can watch together after Christmas dinner?

We’d also love to know what devices your family uses to watch Netflix.  Do you snuggle up with your partner in bed watching on your laptop? Do you use your smart TV when the whole family is together? Do your kids tend to watch the iPad? Whatever it is, we want to hear about it!

Tell us how you will be using Netflix with your family over the festive season, and be in with a chance to win a Playstation 4.

Netflix has a massive selection of quality titles that whole family can enjoy, including hit movies like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Brave and Monsters Inc, as well as festive films like Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas and Scrooged.

As soon as the toy show was over, we started Christmas in our house. and that meant a movie or show every day (well nearly) until the big man arrived. It was great having Netflix they have a great selection and even when we had watched our fill of Christmas themed movies there were plenty of other favourite to enjoy. Brilliant.

As soon as I found out Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas and Scrooged was on Netflix I told the kids - and every day (not kidding - every day) over the Christmas they have asked to watch one or other.

For our family, an important part of Christmas is getting together and watching Christmas movies - and there were plenty to enjoy on Netflix. No matter when and where we were always able to login and watch a movie. At home, and when we went to say and Granny & Grandad's. Netflix is so handy, everyone can watch the things they choose, less arguments, happy mum :)

Christmas is all about relaxing in front of the fire with family and friends. We have a big family so everyone has different tastes of their own. Me personally I love anything Sci fi and horror movies myself as well as the Christmas classic movies like home alone and Santa claus. Lately I've introduced my sister to breaking bad and she is addicted to it. We are all fairly into our technology with all my sisters and Nieces and nephews owing tablet computers. I have an lg one myself its so easy and convenient to watch netflix on these devices. It's easy to use and a huge choice of what to watch.

We use a laptop and HDMI it onto either the Plasma or the LCD (we are an oldtech household) but it still works out perfectly for a serious snugglefest and film favourites catch up. Gerry. Cork.

The best thing about Netflix this Christmas was having it on the go ... we had many an evening with friends and family and the kids just needed some down time, thankfully we had the tablet with us and they settled down to watch a movie - great stuff.

Would not be without Netflix and this Christmas it has shows it's value every day. I remember when I was younger there were great kids movies on TV all through Christmas, but it just doesn't seem to happen anymore. Thank goodness for Netflix.

We normally do a lot of activities over Christmas, but this year, we had a lot of visitors with family and friends home for the holidays. That meant we were in the house a lot - so we were really grateful to have Netflix, for my own kids and all the cousins and friends that arrived at the house. Big hits were Rango, Tangled, Toy Story and Monsters Inc. And of course any type of Christmas related movie too.
They watched it on the TV and their PS console.

I've got two very small ones to keep enteretained this Christmas, and I have found having Netflix on the tv in the kitchen is the very best way to arrange feeding!! Seriously, nevermind all the best expert's advice - it gets me through (what can be very tough) mealtimes - dinners eaten, no tears no fights. Happy mummy. Thank you Netflix - we'll be keeping you.

I downloaded netflix after reading some of information about it here on mummypages and with the link for a months free trial I said i'd give it a go. I absolutely love it. So far over christmas break, I think we have watched nearly 3 films a day and the older girls have it set up on there ipads now so they are streaming away at it too watching films and shows designed for there age group. The best thing for my family using netflix is how you can set up a different profile for each member of the family and so far it has worked out brilliantly. I don't know how much use it will get after the christmas break but for €7.99 per month its a brilliant deal and in my opinion is so much better than sky.

I would like to ask a question to the mummypages groups: I was searching for some of my old personal favourites on netflix and nothing came up in the search results does anyone know if you can watch the likes of the Lion King, Alladdin etc. on it, we have found quite a few disney films on it as we watched mickeys twice upon a christmas and mickeys three musketeers etc. over the last week or so. If yu could help that would be great thanks.
