Netflix & your family Christmas

Christmas is almost upon us, which means time to decorate the tree, get your presents sorted, and of course, time to relax in front of the fire watching your favourite films, and catching up on the TV shows you love, with the people you love.

We want to know how you will be using Netflix with your family this Christmas. Will you put a film on Netflix while you are wrapping your presents? Maybe you’ll be using Netflix to help the kids settle down before bed on Christmas Eve - after all the excitement over the arrival of Santa! Or perhaps you’ll choose a family favourite that everyone can watch together after Christmas dinner?

We’d also love to know what devices your family uses to watch Netflix.  Do you snuggle up with your partner in bed watching on your laptop? Do you use your smart TV when the whole family is together? Do your kids tend to watch the iPad? Whatever it is, we want to hear about it!

Tell us how you will be using Netflix with your family over the festive season, and be in with a chance to win a Playstation 4.

Netflix has a massive selection of quality titles that whole family can enjoy, including hit movies like The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Brave and Monsters Inc, as well as festive films like Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas and Scrooged.

We usually watch the tv shows on netflix on the laptops or pcs and the movies are watched using the ps3 and tv screen. Christmas we had special movies picked out to watch on netflix in between the eating and opening presents :)

Gosh I think my kids would really believe in the magic of Christmas if we won the PS4 ...!! No pressure like! ha ha ha .
We're big Netflix fans in our house - the hubby would watch only it, if he got away with it. And I enjoy it too - but I do need to see the news once in a while!
The kids are absolutley obsessed with Cars, Tinkerbel and Mulan.
That's definitely one happy Netflix family.

I downloaded netflix after reading some of information about it here on mummypages and with the link for a months free trial I said i'd give it a go. I absolutely love it. So far over christmas break, I think we have watched nearly 3 films a day and the older girls have it set up on there ipads now so they are streaming away at it too watching films and shows designed for there age group. The best thing for my family using netflix is how you can set up a different profile for each member of the family and so far it has worked out brilliantly. I don't know how much use it will get after the christmas break but for €7.99 per month its a brilliant deal and in my opinion is so much better than sky.

I would like to ask a question to the mummypages groups: I was searching for some of my old personal favourites on netflix and nothing came up in the search results does anyone know if you can watch the likes of the Lion King, Alladdin etc. on it, we have found quite a few disney films on it as we watched mickeys twice upon a christmas and mickeys three musketeers etc. over the last week or so. If yu could help that would be great thanks.
Hey kathymckevitt2 - the search is very accurate on Netflix IMO, so if it does not come up on search it's just not there :( I've had a quick look there for the lion King and Aladdin, but there's nothing listed (well there is an Aladdin movie, but not Disney). What might be easier if you just search for Disney instead, and you'll see all Disney movies available. Hope that helps.

I will admit now I'm a bit of a night-time Netflix watcher. It's really the only time a get a look in and I love to watch waaay too many episodes of the latest series that I haven't seen.
The kids love anything Disney - A Bug's Life is HUGE right now.
And DH enjoys the comedy.

Brooklyn nine nine is flipping brilliant. Funy and entertaining so me and the other half are ennoying that. The little ones are absolutely obsessed with Toy Story, and the older guy loves Rango. Netflix has us totally covered this Christmas. There's always soething on.

We had CHristmas Day at home this year - we decided as kids were getting bigger, and getting them to leaeve the house to visit was becoming such a battle, that we'd just do it at home. It was a brilliant day - but I've got to admit a long one. There, I said it. And without different rooms and different devices, I'm not sure we would've kept them all happy. And with varying ages it's not always easy to choose something that will keep everyone happy. Thankfully Netflix is perfect, and can be watch on different devices in the house and there's plenty on there to keep even the fussiest occupied.

Hi

My name is Caitlin. And we love netflix in our house
between ipads, smart tvs and mobile phones netflix is a general fixture
in our home. The munchkin (age 2) loves to watch mickey mouse so he is a
permanent fixture on the tv but myself and the other half watch it via
our ipads anything from orange is the new black (love love love) for me
which I am only half ways through so no spoilers please!!! to
documentries for him. Netflix certainly has something for everyone in
the household. An added bonus is that is only 7.99 per month this is
very affordable for most of us out there today. Over Christmas we
watched an array of films both family oriented for the we one or adult
for my self and himself.

Thanks for the info. we have searched for it aswell just couldnt find it, but found plenty of other Disney movies so not too bummed! I had to nip out to the shops and pick up The lion King as it is my all time favourite disney film and such a tear jerker I just had to get it for the collection. Thanks again for your advice.[i]
