2015 came to be known as the year of the celebrity split, but it seems that 2016 isn’t too far off clinching the title, if this latest story from Hollywood is anything to go by.
According to reports this weekend, actor Nicolas Cage has split from his wife of 11 years, Alice Kim
.
A representative for the City of Angels star confirmed the news to People magazine, stating that Cage and Kim had ‘quietly’ separated in January.
The couple are parents to a 10-year-old son, Kal-El Coppola Cage.
Cage and Kim met back in 2004 and tied the knot shortly after. They welcomed their son a year later.
This was the third marriage for the National Treasure actor, who was previously married to Lisa Marie Presley and Patricia Arquette.
Cage is also father to 25-year-old Weston, his son with former girlfriend Christina Fulton.
This must be a very sad time for the family, especially the couple’s son; let’s hope they can keep things amicable.
