When a teenager expresses their desire to leave school early, most parents will seek to make sure that they have a solid plan in place regarding the next step. This is something that the parents of Galway teen Conor O’Flaherty need not have worried about!

Young entrepreneur Conor, 17, is celebrating after recently scooping a €5000 bursary at the SSCUL Enterprise Awards, with his online talent management company Pursue going from strength to strength.

Conor has always shown great talent and business acumen, making YouTube videos since the age of 10 and launching his first business just four years later. Naturally, such early success brought with it a desire to focus more on his business, and the next step was to leave school to do so.

Speaking to the Irish Examiner after his recent win, Kinvara native Conor said he “went through six presentation drafts” before his parents would agree to give him their blessing to quit school.

Having only launched his business last autumn, Conor’s recent win at the SSCUL Enterprise Awards 2016 is surely a sign of success to come!
