The celebrity mum, who recently reconciled with boyfriend Matt Baker, inadvertently became tabloid fodder this weekend as her relationship was put under the microscope by the clamouring press.
Speculation that Matt's ex-girlfriend is currently pregnant with his child appears to have caused unease in the Baker / Marsh camp - something which Matt is at pains to correct.
According to reports, Matt's ex-girlfriend is said to have become embroiled in a public spat with Matt, Kym and Kym's daughter Polly during a recent shopping trip, where she said: "Do you think it’s acceptable that he looks after your child when he’s totally not acknowledged that I’m pregnant with his baby?"
Taking to Twitter yesterday, the 26-year-old private health consultant addressed the reports and laid bare his feelings on the matter, beginning: "I write this statement in response to a story in this morning's paper and these will be my only comments on the matter."
Referring to the status of his relationship with ex-girlfriend, Danielle Ballard, he wrote: "After ending our relationship I was then told at a later time by Danielle Ballard that she was pregnant with my child."
"I have since been told by Ms. Ballard that I am not the father," he continued.
Elaborating further on the point, Matt insisted he would never shirk his responsibilities, writing: "Upon finding out otherwise, I will honour my position as a parent."
Matt is clearly determined to quash the rumours which are circulating regarding the timing of his relationship with the Coronation Street star and insists the 39-year-old actress played no part in the dissolution of Matt and Danielle's relationship.
"I can categorically state that breakdown of the relationship of myself and Danielle Ballard had nothing to do with Kym Marsh."
We wonder if Kym will comment on the recent speculation.
