Having recently announced that she is expecting her first child, Irish athlete Derval O'Rourke caught up with MummyPages' Mum-in-Residence Laura Haugh to discuss how her journey has been so far.
Derval, who is the First 1000 Days pregnancy ambassador for Danone, opened up on everything from her dietary and fitness routine, to her birthing plan.
Admitting that the first few weeks of pregnancy were difficult, Derval admitted that things are now going much more smoothly for her, and she is currently feeling wonderful.
Indeed, while the mum-to-be is still exercising and keeping her fitness levels up, she revealed that she is also making a conscious effort to eat as healthily as possible, with oily fish, milk and oranges forming key additions to her diet.
While she hasn't found out the gender of her baby just yet, Derval's thoughts have, however, turned to the birth.
Admitting that it will definitely be a hospital birth, she said: "The baby has to come out somehow, so I'm hoping that it will be the healthiest way possible and we'll both recover quite quickly."
