After the closure of the world famous Waterford Crystal factory in January 2009, a group of Master craftsmen came together to set up a glass making facility of their own in the heart of Waterford City. They decided that their combined experience of 130 years of glass blowing should live on and The Handmade Glass Company was formed.

Their studio / shop is located in the Kite Studio on Henrietta Street in the heart of the Viking Quarter. From the street you can watch them at work through the shop window and be mesmerised by these master craftsmen.

After the sad closure of Waterford Crystal, it is heartening to see this company grow from its ashes, keeping a Waterford tradition alive. These days the majority of glass products we find in the shops are manufactured in factories, but The Irish Handmade Glass Company hand make all their creations, making each piece unique.

The pieces are beautiful and there is something to suit every taste, from the very modern to more traditional pieces. The craftsmen who produce the work are rated among the world's finest and each creation is a work of art.

They would make ideal gifts and they ship all over the world. They aim to keep the products affordable and prices for smaller pieces start at only €19.95 for Christmas decorations, collectables, etc.
