Having lost primary custody of two of her three children on October 7th this year, reality star, Leah Messer, has opened up about the heartache she feels as a result of the court's ruling,
The 23-year-old, who spent 30 days being treated for depression and anxiety in a rehabilitation centre this summer, spoke with Us Weekly and shared an insight into her current take on the situation.
The Teen Mom 2 star, who initially made a valiant effort to focus on the positive in light of the ruling, admits she's struggling with the new found family dynamic.
Just 12 days ago, Leah, who shares five-year-old twin girls with first husband Corey Simms, took to social media to share her delight at spending time with her daughters.
Showing strength of character and courage in the face of adversity, Leah wrote: "We are having a fun filled weekend together. ENJOYING each other as a family."
Finishing her tweet on an upbeat note, the reality star, who is also mum to a two-year-old daughter with former husband Jeremy Calvert, wrote: "At the end of the day that's what matters most! #memories'"
But it looks like the pressure of the situation is taking its toll on the mum-of-three who has taken to blaming her ex-husband's new marriage for the ruling, telling the publication: "'When Miranda and him first met, that's when he started the full-custody thing."
Disputing those claims, Leah's ex-husband insists it was his daughters' school attendance which lead him to petition for full custody - a claim which was substantiated in court with records proving that there has been ten separate occasions in which the children had been late between August and September.
Leah is now permitted to see two of her children on weekends.
