With Robert Downey Jr. in the thick of the promotional tour for his new movie, Avengers: Age of Ultron right now, it follows that talk would turn to the latest addition to his family – little daughter Avri.

While Avri was born to Robert and wife Susan Levin just over five months ago, we had yet to catch a glimpse of the tot – until last night, that is.

Appearing on The Late Show with David Letterman, the 50-year-old decided it was the perfect time to introduce his daughter to the world.

Robert brought along a photo of little Avri, who looked adorable posing for the camera in a yellow knitted bonnet.

The star, who is already dad to sons Indio, 21, and Exton, 3, was typically hilarious as he described the dynamic between five-month-old Avri and her older brother.

“It’s natural for Exton to want to bite her once in a while. It can start off as a little pet, and then it turns into a nibble,” he joked to show host Letterman.

Robert revealed the special meaning behind baby Avri Roel’s name just after her birth in November, explaining the intricate tribute to his and Susan’s families. The first two letters of ‘Roel’ are a tribute to Robert’s father, Robert, and his wife, Rosemary, and Susan’s mother, Rosie; meanwhile, the ‘el’ is a nod to Robert’s mother, Elsie, and Susan’s father, Eliot.
