There's been some great detective work afoot in order to find out the name of Prince William and Kate Middleton's youngest child.

The proud parents still haven't announced the royally cute name they've chosen, but that doesn't stop us from speculating. Arthur is the favourite with odds of 9/4 at Paddy Power, followed by James at 3/1 and Albert at 6/1. Philip, Alexander and Louis are also proving popular with the public.

Now the Daily Mail has been doing some sleuthing that may have led us to the right answer. They observed that each member of the royal family has their own page on the official royal.uk website, such as Harry's, which has the URL royal.uk/prince-harry.

Following that pattern, if you look up Prince George or Princess Charlotte's pages right now, you get an 'Access Denied' response page. And the same goes for one of the favoured baby names!

The 'Access Denied' page does not seem to be a glitch. When other potential baby names are put in (Arthur, James, Alexander), they lead to a screen saying 'Page Not Found'.

However, when you put in Albert, it shows up as 'Access Denied', like with George and Charlotte's names.

Albert has been among the favourites for the name of the baby who is fifth in line for the throne. Prince Albert was the husband of Queen Victoria and, as BBC royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams notes, there has been a resurgence of interest in that time period.

"There has been a renewal of interest in the Victorian era," he said, "After the success of Victoria on the small screen, there's more popular interest in these royals and it's a chance to pay tribute to one of the great royal romances."

We're still not sure when the official announcement will happen, but this seems like a pretty big clue as to the baby boy's name!
