Shock as teenager is shot in Limerick city this morning

A 17-year-old youth has been rushed to hospital after being shot in Limerick city this morning.

The teenager, who was shot in the thigh, was outside a warehouse on Upper Carey’s Road when the incident took place earlier today.

Having fled the scene following the event, the injured teenager collapsed on a nearby green before being discovered by paramedics who treated him at the scene.

The youth was transferred to University Hospital Limerick by ambulance and is now said to be in a stable condition.

Gardaí are currently investigating the incident.
