She gave birth to her twins back in 2011, and while she has opened up many times about how motherhood has changed her, Mariah Carey is only now talking about her pregnancy complications.
The 45-year-old, who gave birth to son Moroccan and daughter Monroe four years ago, was appearing on ITV’s Good Morning Britain when she revealed the difficulties she experienced on her path to motherhood.
“The pregnancy itself, it was very difficult. I had gestational diabetes, I had preeclampsia – I had all these things you don’t even want to know about,” said the Butterfly singer.
Mariah, who recently filed for divorce from husband Nick Cannon, added: “Anyone who’s ever had twins, I salute you - seriously, anybody out there – because it’s not easy.”
These comments are the latest in a number of extremely candid admissions Mariah has made in recent times.
Last week, the mother-of-two – who had remained tight-lipped about her separation from Cannon after the news broke – finally gave an insight into her heartbreak since the split.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Mariah said: “I try to keep everything together because, in some instances, if you cry you’re not going to stop crying.”
We’re sure that many mums out there can relate to Mariah’s experiences.
