This certainly rang true for Christina Aguilera and her daughter Summer Rain, who turned one earlier this month.
Christina, who is mum to Summer with fiancé Matthew Rutler, threw a stunning carnival-themed birthday bash in the garden of her LA mansion, and it looks like an epic time was had by all.
Pink was the colour theme of the day, while little Summer and her pals were treated to a balloon maker and a bubble station. Minnie Mouse is also reported to have made an appearance at the party!
The photos from Summer’s big day were shared today by People magazine, and the tot clearly enjoyed every second of being the centre of attention.
Due to Christina’s performance schedule, she decided to throw the party after Summer’s actual birthday, August 16, but she did pay a touching tribute to her daughter on the day.
Posting an Instagram shot of Summer sitting beside a giant pink balloon, the 34-year-old wrote: “Happy 1st birthday, my sweet Summer Rain.”
It looks like it was a perfect day for the family.
