Star's wife reveals someone else has recently come between their marriage

With refreshing candour, this TV star's wife has put pen to paper and revealed that while she wishes her and husband, Ben Fogle's, marriage was watertight, this just isn't the case in recent months.

It seems Marina Fogle constantly has to vie for the attention of her husband when their four-year-old daughter, Iona, is around!

Writing for the Irish Independent, Marina, who experienced a devastating family tragedy recently, reveals that her daughter's devotion to her husband has increased in recent months resulting in much jealousy and resentment in the famous household.

Explaining the current Fogle family dynamic, Marina explains: "Whenever he casually attempts to kiss me, she races between us, squealing to get his attention like a jealous teenager. When he is around, she has eyes for no one else, least of all me."
 

With admirable honesty, Marina admits she sometimes struggles with her daughter's blatant favouritism, admitting: "I do find it a little unfair: she spent nearly ten months growing inside me, stretching my once-taut tummy so that it resembles a slab of jelly rather than anything approximating a washboard."

Doting mum, Marina, reveals she concerned herself so much with her daughter's behaviour that she turned to outside sources in an effort to understand her little girl's thought process.

Explaining the route she took, she wrote: "I Googled “Why do daughters...” and before I can get any further it preempts me with 1. Hate their mothers. 2. Prefer their fathers. 3. Dislike their mothers."
 

Relieved to learn she is not the only mother experiencing this period in her little girl's life, Marina joked: "Thankfully, I am reassured to read that what I once regarded as sweet, now terrifying behaviour, is a key developmental stage of normal sexual identity, and does not mean that I should fear for my life."

Marina was sure to pay tribute to the man who offers her daughter a sound male role model and is eager to tend to his little girl's every need and whim.

Honouring the man she married, Marina finished by saying: "I chose a man who relishes fatherhood with every bone in his body. So it’s no wonder that Iona wants nothing to do with me when this incredible person is around."

Marina and Ben married in 2006 before welcoming five-year-old Ludo and four-year-old Iona into their lives.
