After they have fulfilled their purpose of drying us, bath towels are often thrown over the side of the bath or worse - on the floor to get dirty and aged well before their time.

But, with a little TLC, you can keep your bath towels looking and feeling fresh and new.

Don’t hang used ones on top of each other

Hanging more than one towel on a hook can cause moisture to get stuck between the towels – perfect conditions for mould. Let them dry properly by only hanging one on each hook.

Wash them frequently

Make sure you wash your towels frequently but avoid using too much detergent as it can make your towel hard and stiff – not fluffy like you’d like them.

Only use the same towel twice

We’re all pretty guilty of using the same towel more than once and while this is ok it is important you don’t do it more than two times. The more towels you have the less you need to wash them and the fresher they remain.

Wash them in hot water

Towels can be full of germs, especially if used more than once between washes. This means you will need to wash them in water hot enough to kill germs while sticking to the fabric’s recommendations.
