Take my time: Jenna Coleman reveals her plans for motherhood

Jenna Coleman's career is flying high, with her performance in ITV's Victoria getting rave reviews.

And when it comes to her personal life, things are going well too.

The 32-year-old  has been dating fellow actor Tom Hughes for almost three years and they seem blissfully happy.

When the topic turns to motherhood though, she has some firm thoughts.

While she would like to be a mother, she is in no rush - and certainly won't be having nine, like Queen Victoria.

She told Harper's Bazaar magazine that, ''Half of my friends have babies, and half don't, so it doesn't feel like a pressure.''

She continued, ''I want to take my time. There's a whole lot more of the world for me to see first. I'd love to have children one day. But not nine of them, I can tell you that as a fact."

On the role of Victoria - which she turned down twice - Jenna reveals that she's learned so much from portraying the monarch.

She said, ''What I've learned about playing power is, you don't have to. We had a royal adviser in for a few days, and he didn't give any notes to me. He just said to the others: 'You have to imagine there's an aura round this person'. That's the only way you can ever capture it, I suppose."

She continued, ''Victoria was always curious. She wasn't a snob. She was very human and craved anything that really touched her, very much the mother of the nation.''

We love Jenna in the role and think she encapsulates being the mother of the nation perfectly, which might help her if one day she decides to pursue the real-life role of being a mother.
