They have endured their fair share of split rumours over the years, but it seems Nicole Richie and husband Joel Madden are stronger than ever.
With Nicole turning 35 this week, the former Good Charlotte rocker took to his social media channels to share some very sweet sentiments.
Posting a photo of himself and the Candidly Nicole star enjoying a tender moment, Joel wrote: “Best mom, best friend, best wife. Happy birthday Nicole, you keep us all laughing.”
The couple, who have been married for six years, have two children together; eight-year-old daughter Harlow Kate, and seven-year-old son Sparrow James.
Since getting married, the pair have kept their romance out of the spotlight, but that hasn’t stopped the tabloid media from speculating on their marriage. Indeed, just last year rumours were rife that Nicole and Joel were ‘on the brink of a divorce’.
While the couple have always maintained a dignified silence on the subject, Nicole’s famous father Lionel was keen to put the rumours to rest.
“I’m going to set the record straight. They are so happy,” he said, in an interview last September.
