With the amazing weather we had this past weekend, we could have done with a refreshing glass of fresh lemonade.

Well, if you were in this nine year old’s neighbourhood then you were in luck because Tristan set up a lemonade stand to raise money for a very special reason.

Tristan was not trying to save for games or a bike or anything so material, he was saving for something a lot more personal.

“You’re welcome and thank you for helping our adoption.” Tristan said to customers as they bought lemonade.

Yes, he is raising money for his adoption.

Donnie Davis got a call four years ago after Tristan was left on the door step of a shelter on a below freezing winter’s day.

"I was scared to death," she said. "If he was scared, if he was hurt, what was going through his mind?"

Tristan now lives with Donnie and her husband and calls them his parents, all he needs to do now is make it official.

He says "I know she’s responsible for taking care of me, and I know she's going to be a great mother.”

So here he is raising money to make it official.

Donnie has been coaching him on what to say to have good customer service.

"I've kind of coached him on some things to say, and he gets a little nervous and stuff. Sometimes he'll just sit there, and I'm like, 'you have to great them.’”

"He's already a part of our family. In mine and my husband's hearts, that's our son. Nobody can tell us any different; that is our son. He wants to be legally ours." Donnie said.

We wish the best of luck to Tristan and his family with their fundraising efforts to make their loving family official.

SHARE this lovely story of family.
