Are you addicted to One Born Every Minute? Getting a glimpse into the incredible birthing experience of new mums and the pure emotions of the parents is an eye-opening experience. And what about the maternity hospital staff? The soothing, the care, the running when an emergency bell tolls? Oh, and of course, the banter by the tea station? It's all quite mesmerising to watch.

Well, the good news is, now you get to experience all the highs and lows of just what happens in a hospital, right here at home. Over the course of 2018, Scratch Films and RTÉ followed the comings and goings of The Rotunda Hospital in Dublin, 24 hours a day for a total of 21 days. Starting tonight, Irish viewers will get to go behind the scenes at the world’s longest-running maternity hospital in The Rotunda, a brand new six-part series on RTÉ2 at 9.30pm every Thursday.

The Rotunda brings viewers unprecedented access to the workings of the hospital, from going inside the operating theatre and watching the miracle of birth in the labour ward to meeting the baker who makes the cupcakes the hospital gifts to the parents of newborns.

From the screams of those in the throes of childbirth and the highs welcoming a newborn baby, to the terrible lows when a baby ends up in NICU with a team fighting to save its life, The Rotunda reflects what life is like for the parents and staff at the hospital.

You'll meet couples and learn about their own story together and share with them their personal experiences of bringing new life into the world. For all parents and mums-and-dads-to-be, this is a series not to be missed!

The Rotunda starts tonight on RTÉ2 at 9.30pm
