There is no cure for presbyopia; however it can be treated with contact lenses or glasses. Reading glasses are a very common and easy way of treating presbyopia symptoms and are generally worn while doing close work like sewing, or reading. In some cases, the addition of bifocals to an existing lens prescription is enough. As the degree of the presbyopia worsens the bifocal prescription can be adjusted.  Bifocal lenses have two different types of focus. The upper part of the eyeglass lens is set for distance vision, while the lower part of the lens has a prescription set for seeing objects up close.

Another option is to wear multifocal contact lenses which allow different points of focus.

It is important to schedule regular eye examinations as the level of your prescription will increase over time.
