Tune in: RTÉ set to air documentary on late author Emma Hannigan

Award-winning author Emma Hannigan will take centre stage in a documentary about her life, set to air on RTÉ in two weeks.

Her husband, Cian, took to social media to make the announcement.

He wrote, ''Just a little snippet from the documentary that RTÉ kindly did about Emma. It will air on Tuesday, May 7 at 7pm. I hope you will enjoy it. Cian.''

The popular novelist, who had 14 books published, passed away after an 11-year battle with breast cancer in March 2018.

The 45-year-old mother of two’s novel, The Gift of Friends, was released in February and focuses on fractured families, unconditional love and the importance of friendship.

It topped the best sellers list and now the documentary, The Life and Times of Emma Hannigan, will air on May 7.

Emma was an ambassador for the charity Breast Cancer Ireland and raised more than €135,000 before she died on March 3.

The charity said that they, ''Can't wait to watch what's sure to be a fitting tribute to our dear friend Emma Hannigan.”

Emma was mum to 18-year-old son Sacha and 16-year-old daughter Kim.

We will undoubtedly be tuning in to watch the amazing journey of a woman who inspired so many on a daily basis with her strength and bravery.
