The UTV star revealed that she and her husband, former Leinster rugby player Trevor Hogan, are expecting their first child together.
Announcing the news this week, the former TV3 presenter said that the couple’s wonderful news is the icing on the cake after a great 12 months.
“It’s been an eventful year in more ways than one,” she said, adding, “I’ve been lucky and I’ve felt pretty good all along.”
The 34-year-old remained tight-lipped, however, on the subject of her unborn child’s gender, telling The Herald: “We are keeping the sex a surprise. There are so few things in life that you can actually keep a surprise.”
No doubt it is a busy time for Claire, with major changes going on in her career, but the mum-to-be insisted that her focus is on her pregnancy right now.
“I’ve worked up my years in the profession enough to know that these things don’t come along every day. So if you can take the time out and it’s right for you, then go for it. Most mums I’ve spoken to have said they appreciated that time off,” she added.
