They recently celebrated their 17th wedding anniversary, and romance between Victoria and David Beckham is still well and truly alive.

The fashion designer has gushed about the early beginnings of her relationship with the famous footballer, admitting to British Vogue readers that it really was ‘love at first sight’.

In a letter to her younger self, entitled ‘What I Wish I’d Known’, the 42-year-old recalled her first meeting with David – shortly after he spotted her in the Spice Girls’ Say You’ll Be There music video, and pronounced her as ‘his idea of perfection’.

“Yes, love at first sight does exist. It will happen to you in the Manchester United players’ lounge – although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy,” she wrote.

Recalling the exact moment she fell for David, she added: “While the other football players stand at the bar drinking with their mates, you will see David standing aside with his family…And he has such a cute smile. You, too, are close to your family, and you will think how similar he feels to you.”

“He’s going to ask for your number. (He still has the London-to-Manchester plane ticket on which you wrote it),” she revealed.

Of course, the couple went on to exchange vows in July 1999, in Luttrellstown Castle, in Ireland. They are parents to 17-year-old Brooklyn, 14-year-old Romeo, 11-year-old Cruz and five-year-old Harper.

A little romance is exactly what we needed to start the day!
