House of Cards is an intense American drama-thriller series based on the award-winning BBC mini-series of the same name.

An uncompromising exploration of power, ambition and the American way, the series orbits Francis Underwood, the House Majority Whip. Underwood is the politician’s politician - masterful, beguiling, charismatic and ruthless. He and his equally ambitious wife Claire stop at nothing to ensure their ascendancy.

House of Cards Season 1 is available to watch now on Netflix. All Season 2 episodes will be available to watch instantly from 14th Feburary.

Great show, Kevin Spacey is something else isn't he? Maybe I biased though, I think he'd be great in anything. Am very impressedw ith Robin Wright Penn ... does anybody else remember her in The Princess Bride? I can't really remember her in anything else. Anyway, great show really enjoying watchign it.

I enjoyed it, but I have to say it's a real insight into how evil politicians can really be - which is not always good to realise. They play their parts are played very well, both Francis and Claire are utterly ruthless.

Have really enjoyed watching this ... although Kevin Spacey talking directly to the camera was a bit disarming at first, but I got used to it. Turned into very addictive viewing, and will definitely be looking forward to Series 2, I dread to think what they have planned for Francis and Claire ... eek!
