House of Cards is an intense American drama-thriller series based on the award-winning BBC mini-series of the same name.

An uncompromising exploration of power, ambition and the American way, the series orbits Francis Underwood, the House Majority Whip. Underwood is the politician’s politician - masterful, beguiling, charismatic and ruthless. He and his equally ambitious wife Claire stop at nothing to ensure their ascendancy.

House of Cards Season 1 is available to watch now on Netflix. All Season 2 episodes will be available to watch instantly from 14th Feburary.

Meh ... I'm not convinced this show is for me. Isn't it all a bit serious? Although I have to say with everyone else here saying that it's so fantastic ... maybe I'll give it a go. I'm still watching OITNB tho. I'd really like to be able to watch it all in one go ... I reckon that would make it compelling viewing. Now ... who wants to take the kids for a week? Any takers? lol

Great show ... and I'm loving Claire's hair ... (sorry if this is off topic) am definitely tempted to bring a photo to the hairdressers, though I know they'll never be able to match it ... and more to the point, I'll never be able to pull it off. Shame.
Anyway... back to the show, have finished it and really really enjoyed it, utterly amoral behaviour, but it's just so watchable. I think I read the next series is out this week ... excitement! It'll be early to bed for the kids every night next week.

OOooooh this is pretty gripping stuff isn't it? Love Claire and Francis, Russo is a weasel, though I do feel sorry for him. Fool.

I was sooo considering the hair thing too melanieryan ... she carries it off so weel. Mind you ... I can't imagine there is much she can't carry off. You should definitely go for it ... YOLO as they say.

Loving the show, great to have Netflix showing good TV. This is the perfect example of what TV shows should be made of. Really looking forward to the second series AND I read online they'll be commissioning a third series too. Nice one. That's me sorted for a while

Sorry this is not for me at all. Just can't get into it. Will keep watching the group though, can't wait to see what's next (scuse the pun).

It's a good show, no doubt. But I don't actually like any of the characters which is a shame, and mainly what prevents me for be addicted and looking forward to the next series. Of course, I'll probably still watch it ... there's not a lot of choice out there. I really enjoyed Orange is the new Black ... definitely looking forward to the second series of that.

I have to say I really don't like Kevin Spacey SuzanneLawless... just don't see the attraction, either in looks or acting. :(

I am loving House of Cards! Generally I don't tend to like Kevin Spacey - but this type of character really suits him. Half-way through and struggling to tear myself away. Also didn't realise how many up-to-date shows Netflix had - super way of catching up with shows between house work!Smiling

Am very impressedw ith Robin Wright Penn ... does anybody else remember her in The Princess Bride? I can't really remember her in anything else. Anyway, great show really enjoying watchign it.
Have to agree about Kevin Spacey - he is really great in House of Cards!. Unlike you - I wouldn't be a great-lover of Kevin Spacey - but this role really suits him. Such a great show :-)

Only half-way through and I am just not sure that House of Cards is for me. I loved Orange is the Black and have always loved Gossip Girl but just can't get into House of Cards. Might just keep watching though - to see if it gets any better. Excited to see what show we have next! #lovingnetflix
