Ariana Grande has paid tribute to Saffie Rose Roussos, the youngest victim of the Manchester Arena bombing.
The 24-year-old made a moving dedication to the little girl after a concert in Buenos Aires, just days after Saffie would have celebrated her ninth birthday.
Posting a photo from her show, Ariana wrote: “What’s new, Buenos Aires? Argentina, I love you. Saffie, we’re thinking of you, baby.”
Ariana’s heartfelt and sweet gesture was applauded by her legion of fans, who took to the comment section to share their own acknowledgements to Saffie.
Ariana’s timely tribute comes just days after Saffie’s family gave their first public interview about their harrowing loss.
In an interview with the BBC, Saffie’s heartbroken father, Andrew, spoke lovingly of his little girl.
“She was a joker,” he gushed. “She was a huge character. She was just everything you could wish for in a little girl.”
“She loved dancing, music and gymnastics. If she wanted something, she would do it. She loved fame, stardom.”
Saffie’s brother Xander, meanwhile, gave an insight into how the family is coping in the aftermath of their harrowing loss.
“We do a little bit of laughing, a little bit of joking, a little bit of crying and cuddling, and that’s how we get through the day,” he said.
Saffie attended the May 22 concert with her older sister, Ashlee, and her mother, Lisa. Lisa was left seriously injured in the bombing and wound up in an induced coma. Thankfully, she is now recovering; however, the family were faced with the harrowing task of informing her, when she awoke, that Saffie had passed away.
In all, 23 people lost their lives in the bombing. A heartbroken Ariana returned to Manchester two weeks later, to host a benefit concert for the victims and their families.
Joined by the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus and Little Mix, Ariana helped raise over £10 million for the One Love Manchester fund.
We are sure that Saffie’s family appreciate Ariana’s tribute, and the fact that the victims of the tragedy are so close to her heart.
