Filling, emptying and stacking are favourite games for this age group, as are arranging objects. Offer your baby plastic containers and other safe items to play with, or invest in large, easy to stack blocks.
To encourage cruising and walking, you could try placing a favourite toy or some other child safe object at the far end of the couch. Demonstrate the idea by ‘cruising’ along to it on the side of the couch. Your baby may think it’s funny, but they’ll probably get the idea!
Add bath toys to the bathtub! By this age, your baby is probably sitting in the tub, and toys that squirt, swim or that you can catch in a net will add fun to bath times.
Play mimicking games. Either copy what your child does, or encourage him or her to copy what you do. It should result in lots of fun, and helps develop co-ordination.
