Congratulations are in order for former US president George Bush and his family, after his daughter Jenna welcomed her second child yesterday.
In a statement released to People, the doting granddad confirmed that Jenna gave birth to a daughter with husband Henry Hager.
“Laura and I are overjoyed to meet our second grandchild today. Poppy Louise Hager entered the world yesterday in New York City, but we consider her an honorary Texan,” he said.
Going on to share a beautiful photo with the latest addition to his family, he added: “Jenna and Henry chose her name as a tribute to her great-grandfather, who was nicknamed Poppy as a child. We are grateful to God – and to Jenna and Henry – for this beautiful, healthy gift of life.”
Jenna and Henry are also parents to two-year-old daughter Mila.
The proud mum took to her own Instagram account earlier today to mark the birth of her beautiful little one, describing herself and Henry as “in love”.
Congratulations to the family on their wonderful news.
