It's no secret that the relationship between this world-famous rockstar and her daughter has been far from plain sailing, but it probably still came as a shock to learn she hadn't been invited to a very special occasion in her only child's life.
23-year-old Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of late Nirvana frontman Kurt and Hole singer, Courtney Love, tied the knot this weekend, but her mother was nowhere to be seen.
According to E! News, the daughter of one of the world's most famous rock pairings said 'I do' during an incredibly intimate ceremony which is said to have included just 15 guests.
Having dated Isaiah Silva, the lead singer of LA rock band The Eeries, since the age of 18, Frances chose to make it official in recent days, with the couple having planned their special day for over a year.
It is understood 51-year-old Courtney, who admitted to taking heroin while pregnant with her only daughter, has reluctantly accepted Frances' decision to omit her mother from the guest list.
Opening up about the Hole singer's reaction to the news, a source close to the family said: "Courtney really likes Isaiah and is very happy for Frances. Courtney is sad she wasn't at the wedding."
Despite being snubbed, Courtney is adamant her daughter's decision will not effect her relationship with Frances, with a source saying: "This has not caused a rift between mom and daughter."
"Courtney was sad, but she's cool and Isaiah is a great son-in-law," continued the insider,
Frances was just 20 months old when she lost her father to suicide in 1994.
