Sadly, many of us mums allow the little green monster rear it's ugly head from time to time, whether it's because of someone’s lifestyle, career or even the house they live in. And while most of these are fairly common, you might be surprised to learn what nine out of ten Irish women are actually envious of.

According to a new survey by the Seapoint Clinic, Ireland’s leading premium dental practice, the majority of Irish women are envious of other people’s smiles and long for whiter teeth.

The research which was carried out by dental experts reveals that a staggering 95% of women have smile envy, and over two thirds of women long for whiter teeth.

So important is our smile to us that nearly all of those polled say that they believe having a good smile is essential for overall confidence and self-esteem.

Over half of those polled also admitted that they would like to improve their smile in some way, with a small number going as far as saying they outright hate their smile at present. Sadly, the research also found that some women prefer not to show their teeth when smiling in pictures.

So whose smile tops the polls?

Not surprisingly, Cheryl Fernandez-Versini topped the poll as the celeb with the most desirable smile, with over half choosing her as the perfect pin-up for pearly whites.

Our own national treasure Amy Huberman came in second, with 36% believing she has the brightest and best celeb smile!
