You asked

Can my teen get laser surgery for nearsightedness?

Lasik is a type of laser eye surgery which is designed to change the shape of the cornea to help eliminate the need for glasses and contact lenses in cases of myopia (near-sightedness). Lasik, that is used to correct myopia is not suitable for children and teenagers as they are still growing; their eye prescriptions will continue to change until they are fully grown.

Most eye surgeons will not treat patients who are under the age of 21 as there is a risk that further surgery would have to be performed once they have fully matured.
