Today, The Sun ran a picture of a clearly dejected and upset six-year-old Kai.

In the image, the child, who was proudly wearing a red England top, can be seen with his teary eyes closed and his left hand on his head.

However, and although Coleen is usually happy to share images of her children on social media, this was deemed a step too far.

Taking to Twitter, the 30-year-old wrote "yes I've seen the front page and it's absolutely shocking."

Fans were quick to offer their support too. One said: "Words fail me, what right does anyone have to do this to a child? Disgraceful."

Another added: "Win, lose or draw. Your babies aren't part of this... It's disgusting."

A third offered: "no reason to put a child on a front page none."

Coleen, 30, and Kai were joined by her brothers Anthony and Joe McLoughlin joined at the Allianz Stadium in Nice for the game, which England - captained by her husband, Wayne - ultimately lost by two goals to one.
