An elderly woman has been let in a serious condition after she was the victim of a hit and run early yesterday.

 

The incident, which took place in Crumlin, Dublin yesterday morning, saw a taxi driver knock the woman down before driving home.

 

The woman was out walking at the time of he collision and wsa hit while she crossed the road in Sundrive Park.

 

 

One eye-witness said the woman, who is believed to be in her 70s, was left bleeding on the ground.

 

The driver has been questioned by gardaí in relation to the incident but no arrests have been made as of yet.

 

The elderly woman is now in a serious condition in St James's Hospital.
