A trip to the dentist is not something that many of us look forward to, but no one expects it to end in tragedy. Sadly, for the family of US child Daisy Lynn Torres, this turned out to be the case this week.

The 14-month-old has reportedly passed away, after going to the dentist for a ‘routine’ procedure.

Friends of the family have rallied in the midst of the tragedy, with one, Rachel Robinson, setting up a YouCaring fundraising page (link here). On it, she outlined the sad details of Daisy Lynn’s death.

According to Rachel, Daisy Lynn went to the dentist for ‘a routine cavity filling’ and was put under anaesthetic. However, the tot ended up being rushed to hospital when she stopped breathing.

Tragically, doctors were unable to save the tot, and she passed away in what has been described as a ‘completely unexpected’ turn of events.

The exact cause of Daisy Lynn’s death is unknown, but an investigation has now been launched.

“Daisy’s mom, Betty, would give anyone in need her last dollar and has been my best friend since the 6th grade. My heart is broken for her and my second family. Please donate whatever you can for funeral expenses, and if you aren't in a position to donate, please pray for this family,” wrote Rachel, on the fundraising page.

Our hearts go out to the family over their loss.
