Tributes have poured in for a devoted Dublin father who died while saving his daughter’s life this week.

Martin Finn, 60, passed away after pushing his daughter Abbie, 18, out of the path of an oncoming SUV, in Lucan.

The pair had been out feeding horses together earlier that day when the accident occurred, on Tuesday.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and tried to revive Martin, but sadly, he died shortly after.

Abbie, who is mum to a three-month-old boy, has been left with broken bones in her neck. She is currently receiving treatment in hospital.

Martin’s distraught wife, Carol, shared her grief and paid tribute to her husband in an interview with The Herald.

“I had to break the news to [Abbie] on Wednesday night that her daddy was dead, and she said the last thing she remembers is him pushing her to the side,” explained Carol.

Of her late husband, she added: “He never had a bad word to say about anyone. When it came to Abbie, she was his pride and joy.”
