Kerry Katona’s husband, George Kay, has been arrested following reports that a woman was assaulted over the weekend.

It is alleged that the 35-year-old attacked the Atomic Kitten singer, who is said to have been left with bruises and cuts.

According to a Sussex police spokesman: "On Saturday police were called to an address in Crowborough after a report that a woman had been assaulted. A 35-year-old man was arrested at the address on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm to a 35-year old woman, and of unlawful possession of a Taser. The woman had sustained bruising to her face and arms."

This is not the first time Kay has been in trouble with the police.  In August, he was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery, following a carjacking.

The former rugby league player, who has a one-year-old daughter, Dylan-Jorge, with the singer, has only just been welcomed back into the family home after Kerry kicked him out due to his “party lifestyle”.

The couple, who have only been married for a year, have had a turbulent time with Kay being detained under the Mental Health Act after he was found running down the street thinking someone was trying to kill him.

However, Kerry was adamant that she would “help [him] win this fight”.

Kay also previously admitted to Closer magazine that they argue a lot, particularly about money.

“We argue a lot of money issues. We have to live within a strict budget and that's tough. We're both fiery characters, too, so that doesn't help things.”

Kerry has yet to comment on the alleged incident.
