If you are planning a romantic meal with your hubby or a night out with the girls, then Matt the Thresher, Seafood Bar & Grill in Dublin is the perfect spot. Newly opened on Lower Pembroke Street, Dublin 2, Matt the Thresher is a welcome addition to the Dublin dining scene. This light-filled spacious restaurant now offers an attractive menu for day and night, with an emphasis on fresh fish and shellfish, although if you’re not a fish-eater there are plenty of other tasty options to keep everyone happy.

Matt the Thresher offers a range of menus throughout the day.  A full all-day menu is complemented by a choice of two-course menus for either €19.95 or €25.00 and a Tapas Tasting menu, all served from 3pm, making for the perfect plate of food, whatever the time of day.
 
A half dozen Carlingford Lough Rock Oysters are €8, or €14.95 for Dingle Bay Wild Native Oysters.  On the main menu Crab Claws in hot garlic butter (€12.95), Grilled Haddock (€13.95) and Scampi & Chips (€19.95) all feature, while Daily Specials, which are served with served with baby potatoes and salad, include Pan Fried Butterflied Mackerel Fillets with a chilli glaze (€9.95) and Pan fried Lemon Sole on the Bone (€15.95).

Choose your burger plain, or with Irish Bacon and melting Gubeen Cheese, served with chip from €11.95 to €13.95.  Ed Hicks Sausages feature in the Bangers and Mash with Onion Gravy for €9.95, and Matt’s Steak and Kidney Pie (€12.75) is already a firm favourite, as is the Birdhill Traditional Lamb Stew (€12.95). Served with two sides, a 10oz 28 day dry aged Sirloin Steak is €21.95 or €24.95 for the Fillet Steak.
 
Open for breakfast from 8am weekdays, and from 9am Saturdays, last food orders at 9.30pm.  Reservations are available but not necessary – yet!
