Posing with eight-month-old River Rose in the latest issue of People magazine, the 32-year-old gushed over her new role as a mother.
“I never thought I was going to be a mom, so it’s very much changed my world in the most awesome way,” said the singer.
She added: “I love what I do, but I feel like I relied on my career a lot for my self-worth. And now I’m more than that. I’m a mother and a wife and have this whole other thing going on.”
She previously expressed that her focus has been on her baby rather than hitting the gym, and she shared a refreshingly positive outlook toward body image in her industry.
“I’ve always done the opposite of what people expect of me. I have friends who are like, ‘How are you walking outside in leggings and no makeup?’ They love Beyoncé, and she’s always diva’ed out. I love her too, but that’s just not me,” she admitted.
