This was the case for an 11-year-old girl who took to a shine to a boy in her class and decided to go straight in for the jugular, to find out if he felt the same.
While she simply states “Do you like me?”, followed by a ‘Yes’ box and a ‘No’ box, the response she received was surprisingly profound.
The note back, uploaded to Reddit by the girl’s mother, reads: “I don’t know. I don’t know myself yet. Plus I’m under a lot of stress at home, so I can’t tell.”
Astonishingly, the boy adds at the end of the letter: “P.S. You don’t know yourself until you’re 18.”
We’re knocked for six by that response!
Needless to say, so were a number of Reddit users, with one commenting: “I am 47 and I still don’t know myself, but I hear by 57, all the answers come flooding in.”
Whether they’re sharing their views on love, reaching out to comfort others or telling off their parents, these wonderful kids never fail to impress us.
