When 12-year-old Josh Brown found a mobile phone on a train, he didn't think the incident would go viral, but it seems the public wants to celebrate this young lad's admirable selflessness in light of the event!

16-year-old Shaunnah Hickinbottom was devastated to discover she had left her iPhone 4 on a Birmingham train last week which happened to be recovered by Josh.

After answering a panicked phone call from Shaunnah's mum Michelle, the schoolboy agreed to leave the phone at the ticket office.

Eager to reward Josh for his honesty and helpful nature, Michelle requested that the 12-year-old leave his address alongside the phone so she could post him a little something for his good deed.

Michelle was overwhelmed to discover a handwritten note from Josh when she arrived to collect her daughter's phone which thanked the mum for her generous offer but declined the reward.

Suggesting Michelle pay it forward by doing something nice for someone else, Josh displayed his thoughtful and considerate nature in just one short note.

Determined to bring the child's touching note to public attention, Michelle took to social media to find Josh in an online campaign which Josh's mum happened to come across.

Acknowledging her son's gesture, proud mum Angela said: "We are very proud of him. He just did the right thing."

Commenting on the touching note, Michelle admitted: "I just wanted to find him as I thought it was a lovely thing to do. I was choked when I saw the letter. I was really overwhelmed. He will go far in life with an attitude like that. He seems a great lad. We are really grateful."

Josh is keen to downplay the incident, simply saying: "My dad always says 'What goes around comes around' and if I lost my phone I would like to think someone would do the same to me."

What a fantastic thing to do. Well done, Josh!
