Yesterday, we reported the wonderful news that American football star Devon Still’s four-year-old daughter Leah is in cancer remission.

Now, we have yet more good news, as it has been revealed that 18-month-old Victor Skaro – the brave cancer patient who became famous for posing in superhero capes – has beaten his illness.

Victor, who became known as ‘Valiant Vito’, had been fighting a brain tumour for seven months, but was recently cleared to leave the Minneapolis branch of Children’s Hospital of Minnesota.

A post shared on Victor’s Facebook page this week read: “Hey cancer – I won. Six more months and you’re done!”

Victor is now due to undergo six months of maintenance chemotherapy and intense physical therapy, having spent 188 days in hospital.

Commenting on her son’s great news, mum Nicole said: “It’s just short of miraculous. His capes are just amazing. I swear they harness a superhero power.”

Victor’s story went viral after his family set up a crowdfunding page, appealing to the public to help their son get through his treatment. So far, they have raised over $11,000 of their $50,000 target figure.

Nicole paid tribute to members of the public and the family’s local community, saying: “It’s just a wonderful celebration of Vito and this amazing strength that he has.”
