An 8-year-old boy has lost his life following a tragic road traffic collision in Banbridge, Co Down.
 

The PSNI stated that a two-car collision occurred on the Aughnacloy Road yesterday evening.
 

The young boy was travelling in one of the cars when it collided with another vehicle.

 

"The boy tragically died at the scene of the two-vehicle collision which occurred at around 5.20pm on Saturday evening, involving a silver Audi Q3 and a silver Ford Focus,” said Inspector Gregory Beckett.
 

Three other people remain in hospital, including a child. It is understood that they are being treated for serious injuries.

 

The road has re-opened to the public.
