The Tooth Fairy is one of the most exciting parts of childhood for kids all over the world – which is why some parents are ticked off over the following letter.

Blogger ‘Non-Stop Mom’ has come under fire this week, for attaching conditions to her young daughter’s deal with the Tooth Fairy.

In a blog post, she shared the letter the Tooth Fairy sent to Emily, after her tooth fell out recently.

It read:

"My dearest Emily,

I came by tonight to retrieve your tooth and leave your payment – however, because of the condition of your bedroom, I had a horrible time even getting to your bed safely. Once there, I was unable to locate the tooth pillow due to the amount of pillows, blankets, and bodies in your bed.

I will have to come by on a different night – perhaps you can take the time between now and then to properly clean and organise your room. I bet if you ask your mother NICELY, she will even help you to do it.

Much love,

The Tooth Fairy”

While many people found the letter amusing, and others even praised the mum for taking the tough stance; others were highly critical of her decision to bargain with her daughter in such a manner.

“I think this is so unfair. Since when did the Tooth Fairy come with terms and conditions? Let kids be kids and have a little magic. Imagine the level of disappointment this little kid had, expecting the Tooth Fairy to leave a coin and getting the ‘warning letter’ instead,” replied one mother.

Another, meanwhile, chimed in, adding: “Mums know to never ruin a celebration like a visit from the Tooth Fairy with a criticism and disappointment. And don’t stoop to making the TF the bad guy…make positive memories.”

Overwhelmed by the negative responses, ‘Non-Stop Mom’ took to her blog to write a response, in which she defended her actions.

“What you see on this page is ME...It’s not here to inspire or educate or mock or anything – it’s here to give me a place to ramble when I want to ramble, vent when I want to vent, and celebrate when there’s something worth celebrating,” she wrote.

She added that Emily did make an effort to tidy up her room, and while it was far from perfect, she was thinking of ‘going ahead and allowing the Tooth Fairy to come back’ that night.
