With homelessness continuing to be a growing problem in Ireland, this latest example of the seriousness of the issue has led to many people calling on the government to do more.
Danny Southgate took to Facebook to share this shocking image of a tent and a buggy in Dublin City Centre.
“A TENT AND A PRAM. This is city centre Dublin this morning. I see family living in a tent, Fine Gael would see a one bed with parking. Enda Kenny, hang your head in shame.”
The post has been liked and shared by nearly 4,500 people with people sharing their shock and heartbreak in the comments.
“Our country is a disgrace, to think that in this day and age anyone has to resort to this level of misery is beyond words,” read one comment.
“Surely our Minister for Children has to see her priority should be to take homeless children off the streets. I’m in despair.”
The numbers of homeless children in Ireland is continuing to rise, it is being predicted that over 2,500 children will be homeless on Christmas day.
