A 41-year-old father from Arizona was arrested on charges of manslaughter yesterday after it was discovered he left his two-year-old son strapped inside the family vehicle after an episode of drink driving.

James Koryor is alleged to have purchased a bottle of gin, consumed it on the journey home and failed to realise his son, Alpha, was still inside the car when he got out and made his way into the family home.

While the toddler was left inside the car in 32 degree heat, his older brother got out of the vehicle, but it has not yet been established whether he was taken inside by his father or managed to extricate himself.

Upon entering the family home, James Koryor feel asleep, unaware he had neglected to see his son safely inside the home.

Family members were told by Alpha's older brother that the little boy was sleeping and tragically assumed he meant in the care of another relative within the house.

A few hours later, Alpha's mother was devastated to find her little boy unconscious in the back seat of the car, having assumed he was napping inside the family home.

Following the horrifying discovery, the toddler was rushed to hospital, but pronounced dead soon after.

James Kryor sobbed as the charges were read out in court yesterday and his bail has been set at $50,000.

This is not the first incident of this nature which we have reported on and our hearts go out to all those affected by these tragic events.
