What better way to get over hump day that with a story of honesty and goodwill.

Staff as Scottish Power and Whitelee Windfarm are searching for a child who sent back his 10p gift shop souvenir after realising he had accidentally taken it without paying.

The young boy called Daniel was at the windfarm with his mum when he believed she had paid for the toy he had been playing with and took it home.

After realising his mistake, he made it his mission to get the toy back to its rightful home and sent a letter along with it.

The letter read:

“Dear Sir/Madam, I was in the shop and picked up the enclosed thinking that my mum had paid for it.

“Unfortunately, she had not so I am returning the item.”

The energy company is now trying to find Daniel in the hopes of thanking him for his honesty.

"I'd certainly like to praise this very honest young boy for admitting his mistake, and for his sincerity in his actions.

"It's certainly heart-warming to think that someone would go to such lengths to return an item of very small value to us,” it was said to the Express.

"Unfortunately we don't have Daniel's return address to send him back our own gesture of thanks, but I do hope he gets touch or visits us again with his mum."
