Nothing can quite beat the feeling of a kind gesture, whether you’re giving or receiving, and the following story just proves why love makes the world go around.

An eight-year-old boy and his family have come in for major praise this week, after a video of their very sweet gesture towards their beloved postman went viral.

Henry Bailey has been delivering letters to Terra McDaniel’s residence since she was a little girl, and now that she is a mum herself, her son Carmine has grown very much attached to Henry. So much so, in fact, that he wanted to do something special for him during the recent heatwave in their Virginian town.

While the family had been passing bottles of water out to Henry while he was doing his rounds, Carmine came up with the neat idea of setting up a cooler especially for the busy postman.

The eager little boy filled up the container with water and Gatorade, then left a note on top telling Henry to help himself and ‘have a good day’.

Recently, Terra’s security camera caught footage of Henry making the discovery – and he was clearly very grateful!

“Oh man! Water and Gatorade. Thank God, thank you!” Henry can be overheard saying, in the footage.

After the charming footage went viral, Terra told ABC News: “[Henry’s] been a mailman for 21 years and before that, was a retired vet. No matter what kind of weather – it can be rain, storm or even a hurricane – he’s always so friendly and nice.”

As for young Carmine, Terra said he makes these kind gestures because ‘he thinks it’s what he’s supposed to do’.
