Anyone who has travelled with a little one will know only too well that it can be a traumatic experience, for both you and your baby.

As well as having a vulnerable child to worry about, you also have to contend with the glares, stares and complaints from other passengers every time your baby makes a sound.

In a bid to highlight the struggle of these mums and babies flying together, and to remind everyone else to be sensitive to their feelings and experience, JetBlue came up with a very special campaign idea.

A video documented the airline’s FlyBabies campaign, where passengers were rewarded each time a baby cried during their flight.

As the flight took off, the passengers were informed that every time a little one cried, they would all receive 25% off their next flight – meaning that four cries would equal a free ticket!

“Flying with a crying baby is tough on all of us, but it’s especially hard for mums. In honour of Mother’s Day, we are giving everyone a reason to smile every time a baby cries,” they explained, on YouTube.

By the time the plane had landed, the babies’ cries were met with smiles as well as a round of applause!
