A single mum, who was scammed out of €415 trying to buy tickets to Euro 2016, has been left stunned after a kind stranger arranged replacement tickets for the whole family.

Talking to the Irish Mirror yesterday, Emily O’Sullivan explained how she had bought two tickets to the Ireland v Belgium match for her boys from europeanchampionships.com.

However, a few months after she had transferred €415.00 for the tickets, the website disappeared.

Emily had planned a ten-day family holiday to France with her four kids, and was obviously left “devastated” when she realised it was a scam.

“In March I found europeanchampionships.com, I spoke to them on the phone, there was emails going back and forth and I ended up paying for the tickets over the phone with my visa debit card,” she said to the publication.

“Now it’s transpired that the website has disappeared, my emails go undelivered, when I ring them it says their message box is full and the website domain name is up for sale.”

However, in a wonderful turn of events, Emily has been given tickets to the game after Newstalk’s The Pat Kenny Show phoned to tell her that a listener had generously arranged to have the tickets replaced.

Clearly stunned by the wonderful news, Emily couldn’t thank them enough, saying: “Oh my God, the excitement, Byron is actually crying here. Thank you so much.”

“Thank you to whoever out there was so kind.”
